I had a good reason, though! I went out with a friend to lunch and then because we didn't want to go home yet we explored a park (I had only been in said park at night--what does that say? O.o) and an abandoned train depot on the river. I got a lot of great pictures... :D (at least, I say they're great and that's all that matters, right?)
But yes. By the time I went home around 5:30 I was SOAKED with sweat. Part of the problem was forgetting a hair tie (NEVER AGAIN!!) and my hair kept sticking to my neck and face.
*shudders* It was not something I'd like to repeat.
The hair, I mean. I would have no qualms about repeating the day's activities. :D
2. ONLY 4 MORE DAYS!!!!
To what, you ask? Well. On Wednesday Mom and I are picking up two of my friends who are flying up from Texas to visit. I have never met said friends in real life--I've known them for almost three years, and we Skype on a fairly regular basis, but it's just not the same as actually meeting them.
This will make the first time that I've ever actually MET one of my Internet friends.
EEEEEEEE I'M SO EXCITED. GAH. We have SO many things planned to do (sushi restuarant, horse riding, swimming, hiking etc) and see...and on the Monday after (August 2nd) I'm flying back with them to Texas for a week. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!1!1!!eleven!
3. There's a thunderstorm moving in.
What's so noteworthy about that? Well...nothing, really. I just thought I'd mention it because I'm strange that way. Moving on....
4. There's an old pair of Converse shoes hanging off of my truck's trailer hitch.
I have pictures and everything. But since I'm working at the gym pictures will have to wait--
Hmm? Why, you ask? Well...there's a bit of a story behind that.
After seeing 'Despicable Me' in theaters we all trekked over to WalMart (because that's what kids do around here after ANYTHING, we go to WalMart XD) so Will could buy a new pair of Converse (technically they're cheap rip-offs, not the real thing, but meh.). His old pair had a large rip in the heel that presumably made it hard to walk. While he looked for shoes I walked around with two friends, lurching up and down aisles and frightening people.
(I lurched, that is. And I'm still of the opinion that it's the derby hat that frightened them.)
Anyway. So after acquiring said shoes we trooped out to the parking lot, Will changed his shoes, and he was going to hang one shoe on my trailer hitch and hang the other on someone else's, just to be ornery. But the single shoe looked so lonely by itself...and long story short the shoes are together and look happy to be so. XD
(Random quote from a friend: "They look so happy together!")
Yes, he DID say that. And it was hysterical. (The hysterical part miiiight have been the drugs talking, come to think of it...)
5. I haven't ridden the horses all week.
I have two words for that: pulled teeth. Moving on...
And that's technically not EVERYTHING noteworty that has happened, but I figure that that's enough for this lovely Saturday. Pictures may or may not be forthcomng later (Mom had a suspiciously long list waiting for us at home *whimpers*)
So, without any further ado, adieu.
Your punny hostess,
The Fox
