Sigh...another month is almost over...next Thursday we're off to Florida. I've never ridden on a plane before, so I'm working myself into a ridiculous frenzy over it. I know it's silly, but I'm still terrified at the thought of flying. Hmm...maybe that's why my stomach has been out of whack for several days...
Many, many apologies about the Mizzie story. In my defense, I have been working on it, but whenever I try to paste the story onto a new page my page locks up and a window pops up saying 'Internet Explorer has stopped working' and restarts the page. *snarl* I shall have to figure out a way around that.
Re-reading the Temeraire series...man do I love that series! I'm on book 4 (Empire of Ivory) and I'm working on fanart again. This time around I'm whipping out the ol' watercolors and painting instead of sticking to regular old pencil. I LOVE my watercolors---they're so bright and more alive than acrylics or pencil.
And speaking of watercolors and the Temeraire series, check out this artist: http://anke.edoras-art.de/anke_temeraire.htm
She's German (I think...or Dutch? I dunno) and was commissioned to paint illustrations for some limited collector's editions of Temeraire. This lady has more talent in her little finger than I have in my whole right arm. So I'm working as much as possible on my watercolor painting--I want to be that good someday. :D
Oy, it's been raining almost nonstop for two days. Sunday we mowed the lawn for the first time (the grass was at least 8 inches tall in places) and I got a mild sunburn on my shoulders. Mom and I also finished putting in the 'invisible fence' for Javert (that stupid fence probably took us 7-8 hours total to install it--at least the silly thing works) on Saturday and I finally introduced Javvie to it today. He seemed nonplussed about the whole experience--I mean, he definately noticed being shocked but he seemed more wary than upset.
For the uninformed, this 'invisible fence' works via a wire that is buried in the ground and transmits a signal to a receiver collar. When the dog gets too close to the wire it beeps, and then if he gets closer it gives him a mild static shock. There are little white flags all along the border as a visual warning until he learns his boundaries.
Right...so I guess that's all for now...cheerio, all. :D

Happy Easter, everyone! We (meaning Dad, Mom, Will, and I) read the accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John over the past week in order to 'get in the mindset', so to speak. It's been kind of fun. I've been on a unicorn kick ever since my last art lesson. My art teacher was commissioned by the local library to paint a mural in the 'teen vault', and the picture is a medieval-looking corridor with open doorways branching off to the sides; at the end of the 'corridor' is a scene with a girl and a unicorn. I drew a picture of a girl and unicorn almost two years ago for this purpose, and we're finally getting the mural drawn and painted. My art style has changed significantly since then, so I'm redrawing the scene. So...the top picture I drew in art class and painted it the same day in watercolors. I haven't actually gotten around to drawing the scene, but I'm getting there. XD 'My Fair Lady' is over!!! *sobs* But it was fantastic. Over three days of showing we sold 925 tickets (our goal was 1,000), and last night being our last night we had pictures taken, did our set 'strike', and had a small cast party. Food was supplied (thank goodness!!), and everyone was given a gift of some sort. I met many great people, and whereas I enjoyed this experience I am glad it's over. I'll be able to eat something other than junk food for supper and I won't have to wear makeup for hours every evening, and I won't be perpetually exhausted. *grins* Oh! Pictures were taken, and once I get them uploaded to a Picasa album I will put the link here. So I think that's about it...like I said earlier, I'll get the pictures from My Fair Lady up in Picasa. And I think that I'm going to sleep today. 'Kay? 'kay. |
