I'm posting a mere four days after my last post! Gasp! Le Gasp! And so on.
I have a new picture in my art section *points down* Just a pic of me cosplaying as Javert. Believe it or not, I have everything in the proposed costume below except for the nightstick. And I would love to have a top hat, but I haven't come across one yet.
So anyway...on to more exciting news! Last Friday Will and I went to auditions for a local production of My Fair Lady; it was the first time for both of us for actually auditioning for parts. Unfortunately, we didn't realize until we got there that there is an age limit of 18. However, they didn't find out how old we are until after they heard us sing...let me go to the beginning. Will tried out for Freddie Eynsford-Hill and sang 'On the Street Where You Live' and did an amazing job (he was better than the other fellow auditioning, and the fellow in question is probably 6-7 years older). So the people there asked how old Will was, and he said, "Ah, er...um...I'm 15..." That floored 'em. So then I sang 'Loverly' and 'I Could Have Danced All Night' while trying out for Eliza Doolittle. The only other people auditioning for Eliza were this girl who I didn't know and my voice teacher. Then I got to do the accent...IT WAS SOOOO FUN!!! *squees* Ahem. Anyway, several people came up to me after I read from the script and said that they thought I was the best one there. No, it wasn't a dream, I'm not making this up. But...since I'm only 17 I won't get the lead role. My teacher came up to me afterwards and said that she was genuinely concerned about my competition for the role until she found out about the age limit. So anyway...it was lots of fun and they (meaning the 'judges') said something about even though Will and I couldn't get lead roles we might get into the chorus (background people, Ascot, etc). And that's fine with me--as long as I get SOME part I don't really care.
