Well. To put simply, Barricade Day isn't a real holiday in an observable sense. Rather, it's an opportunity for nerdy people who love the story of Les Miserables to solemnly remember the people who staged an uprising against the government, built a barricade, and nobly died on said barricade. It's a story...but c'mon, the book is call 'Les Miserables'! That's your first hint! XD
Obvious title aside, it's a great story. And for two years (three now) I've been observing it by watching the Tenth Anniversary Concert for Les Miserables the musical. And this year I made a decadent cake and invited friends over to nom on said cake.
(And they were delicious. XD)
Be glad I didn't go with my original idea--I was going to put little Lego figures posed in various death poses all over it, but in the end I figured that that getting icing and stuff all over Legos could be messy. XD
And now I shall go back to the TAC, which is currently playing 'I Dreamed A Dream'. Eee.
Your hostess,
The Fox
