Please join me in a moment of silence as we observe the passing away of Cooter the computer. He was a good compy, with all the quirks and maddening little tics that were necessary to keep us on our feet. We will miss him.

So apparently the hard drive has been fried. *cries* To make a long story short, Cooter is dead for certain. The good thing is that the computer guy was able to get all of our info off of it and we'll have them in CD form in a relatively timely fashion. And now, for advice: anyone know of a really good laptop for not too much moolah? Compaq are obviously out. My budget probably won't be over $500, unless I can save some money on the side (but between paying off my truck, tuition and books for college I'm kinda lacking in the funds department). Sigh...I'm using Mom's computer and the one at the gym as a crutch for now. It's a temporary fix, anyway.
So! On to other things! I signed up for my next round of classes at college--only three, but that's all I could afford right now and they're all on one day. So, starting in January, from 8 AM to 2:50 AM every Monday and Wednesday I shall be at school. Considering that I've never gone to 'school' for more than three or four hours (except to take tests) this will be...interesting. (translation: WAAAAAHH!!)
I have been a knitting FIEND for the last three days--I'm making another pair of 'wrist warmers' (think these: http://www.yarnmarket.com/generate/big_photo.cfm?image_link=/images/wrist-warmers-p48-090417-043245.jpg&width=550&height=442&my_title=Himalaya+Wrist+Warmers+(P-48)+Main+Image in a soft red). Both are finished, and something went wrong in the measuring side (I didn't use a pattern) because one is almost an inch shorter than the other. Uh...whoops? *blush* But I've started a pair of 'manhandlers'--that is, a pair of fingerless gloves for guys in cameoflague. My right hand is consequently killing me. I had this happen a couple of years ago--I was stricken with something like carpel tunnel, but instead of tingling and my hand falling asleep there's just an occasional shooting pain up the back of my hand and into my middle fingers. If I would slack off for a while it'd go away, but I wanna knit and draw and write... *wibbles* Traiterous hand!!
Well, nothin' much else going on, so I am going to toddle off and knit some more. XD See ya 'til next time!
