I GOT A TRUCK. Actually, I bought said truck almost two weeks ago, but my life is ruled by insanity (i.e. Footloose rehearsals) and this is one of the first times that I have gotten on here at all. *falls over* And I got pictures too!! Am I good or what?? :P

It's a 1999 Ford F150, 4-wheel drive, etc. It only has one key, so I have to be very careful not to lose said key.
Footloose is down to the wire...we have rehearsals every day until next Friday (the 17th), which is opening night. We've run through the play twice from beginning to end, and with various distractions and repeating the occasional song we're down to 2 1/2 hours per 'performance'. Things are coming together! This is the best part of a play!! *dances*
Let's see...no art today, unfortunately--I haven't been drawing hardly at all. Well, that isn't totally true--I've done a ton of chibis and figure drawings but nothing exciting or 'completed'. I find that I regress a bit into things that are 'easy' when I have a ton of stuff going on in life. In this case, it would be chibis. I try to draw during rehearals, but I get distracted too easily. Believe me--I've sat the last two days with an open sketchbook in my lap and not drawn a thing.
I think I'm getting an urge to quilt. I've never had the inclination before, but now that I know how to use my 'new' sewing machine I--what? I've not mentioned this sewing machine? Well. It's a 'Brother' that my grandpa brought home from Japan in WWII for my grandma. The thing has all metal guts, so it weighs, and I kid you not, at least 50 pounds. The thing is MASSIVE. But it was re-worked and put into storage a few decades ago and it's in mint condition. So I really like it. ^-^ Once life calms down a bit (hopefully during the fall/winter) I can get into my quilting. Mom and Grandma (not the one who gave me the sewing machine) have quilted for YEARS, but I've never had the inclination 'til now. At first I wanted to do a 'lady's fan', which looks really cool but is a little harder than I had figured. So maybe a nice, simple 9-patch is in order.
Before I forget: I discovered a website that I find incredibly interesting: www.rebelution.com Basically, it is a call for teenagers to rebel against the low standards that are expected in life and to 'do hard things' in the name of Jesus. It's really fascinating. I'll put a permanent link to the site in my "Links" page.
