So during this ride we only had two moments where she 'spooked' badly. The first one involved a car and a mailbox: a car buzzed past us going fairly quickly, and Violet turned as if to spook but spooking would have involved jumping into a mailbox. So instead she stalled and her knees started buckling--I thought she was going to fall over for a moment, but the car went past, she regained her footing, and all was well. The second spook was when two vehicles (one of which was a very loud pickup) went past and she jumped forward into someone's yard. Oh, and there was a moment with a leaf-mower thing. But other than that she did pretty well. As long as Colletta is there for 'moral support' Violet doesn't get too scared.
Mom and I, for precaution, have taken to both wearing helmets--I've worn one since that concussion, but Mom usually doesn't wear a helmet. But she's decided that it's a good idea to wear one, because even though Colletta is quite well-trained (doesn't spook, doesn't bolt) there's always the outside factor of the horse tripping, or being stung by a bee, or SOMETHING.
Let's see...oh, I've been a knitting and crocheting fool lately. I crocheted a beret/tam in three days and am now wearing it (I'll have to take a picture of me wearing it), and also knitted a pair of fingerless gloves. I have to figure out what to do with the gloves, because I already have a pair...maybe I'll give it to someone as a Christmas present. *shrugs*
I'm supposed to be doing homework...I don't wanna... *headdesk* One of my assigned projects is to draw 20 thumbnails (preliminary sketches) of my initials in a creative way, like for a logohead. WHY WOULD ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND DRAW 20 STINKING THUMBNAILS?? My initials are very unfriendly to creative tampering anyway--what can you do with MRN? Huh?? *snarl* Oh, and then 10 thumbnails of a logohead for a pet salon. This graphic design book has some of the dumbest project ideas...
Oh, speaking of graphics: I found my digital sketches and here they are!
