This morning my mom called me to tell me about a call from her sister (my aunt). My aunt told Mom about a call she had received from a friend of hers this morning; said friend is the wife of a pastor to a little Baptist church in Springfield. This lady was driving outside of Springfield this morning when she passed a hitchhiker. Normally she never picked up hitchhikers, but today she felt like she ought to so she went back and picked him up.
Once she had gotten on the road she asked this guy, "I'm heading to Springfield--where do you need to go?" The man looked at her and said, "Gabriel's lips are on the horn."
This took her aback, and she said, "What?"
Again he said, "Gabriel's lips are on the horn." And then he disappeared. She was driving on the highway, so there was no way he could have exited the car without her knowing--and he just disappeared.
She started crying and carrying on, so much that her driving became erratic and she was pulled over by a policeman. The policeman asked her, "Ma'am, are you all right?"
She explained what had happened (approaching hysteria at this point), and he told her, "Ma'am, you're the fourth person to have told me that today."
I am a firm Christian, and I know that Jesus Christ is coming back someday. If this story I related is true (and I have no reason to doubt that it is), then His coming is very, very near. It's exciting and kind of scary at the same time ('unknown' scary, not 'fear' scary).
BY THE BY, today is the last day of Ramadan, the Muslim day of prayer.
I do not believe that these two incidents are unrelated. I also know that by saying so I'm probably going to tick off a bunch of people, but I DON'T CARE. There are more important things than group approval, and by mincing and editing my words so I don't offend certain people I would be denying God's hand in things that are happening. And I'm not about to do that.
