So we left the house in the wee hours of the morning (around 6 AM) and didn't arrive at our destination until 11 PM that night. Suffice to say, it was a very, VERY long day. But it was completely worth it. :D
We were fed very well by Lydi's wonderful mother Sandra (she made some amazing chicken soup)...I personally inhaled a bowl of soup and was up and taking pictures before anyone else was done.
I would also like to point out that the drive to their house was a rather interesting one...Isaac was leading the way and drove the wrong way at first, so we had to retrace our path and go the RIGHT way. When we finally got to the house we were practically giddy from lack of sleep and the fact that we were GOING TO MEET OUR NEW INLAWS EEE SQUEEE.
(As noted in the previous entry, we were more than a little excited about meeting them.)
When we got to the house the porch light started flashing frantically on and off, we flopped out of the rental cars and staggered towards the house, and I was instantly buried by the Stone girls (I stayed with the Stones earlier this year) and our new brothers.
Okay, they're technically brothers in law, but they call Will and me 'lil bro' and 'lil sis' (respectively), and we refer to them as 'brother(s) of mine', so they might as well be siblings. XD
So after our midnight supper, everyone (well, almost everyone) troops to the living room, picks up an instrument, and starts playing.
I should mention now that not only are our new in-laws highly musical, my family is also pretty musical in our own right (my parents used to have a band that they played in for a living). Bringing our two families together has resulted in an explosion of musical-ness that will probably not be surpassed in a loooong time.
