*pant pant*
Okay, I'm better. XD But seriously...this was the result of Wednesday and Thursday's storms working together to flood the earth. So...much...water... O.o
By the way, the reason our yard floods like this is because we're surrounded by fields (they have corn or soybeans in them, depending on the year). Said fields have runoff water that drains directly into our creek. Sometimes into our yard as well.
If I was about eight years younger I would have boated up and down this creek about twelve times by noon. XD Ahh, those were the days, when things were as complicated as trying to keep a blue watering tub from sinking...
In other words, they weren't complicated.
Just thought I'd clear that up. XD
Well, I'm furious beyond belief at M. But I don't really wanna talk about that... >.<
Yesterday I took the horses out for a ride, one at a time.
Violet: "Oh NO, what is THAT THING?? It makes funny noises! Ack, is that mud! NOOOOES! I'M GONNA DIEEEE!!"
Colletta: "LET'S GO PLACES!!"
My horses are such dichotomies to each other it's pathetic. Violet was worse than usual--giving me so much trouble that I finally had to get off and lunge her for about 10 minutes just to get her calmed down (yesterday's monster was a large mower and moist-looking spots in the ground).
Colletta, on the other hand, was great. I found out that C has speed control...that is, she doesn't just have one speed of trot (fast), one speed of lope (fast)--she actually can go slowly in each gait. It's amazing...I wasn't jostled out of my seat by her trot yesterday. I think I heard a hallelujah chorus upon that discovery...and when she's not trying to lurch ahead and take off she has a really nice, round lope. Ahhhh.... :D
So yeah--other than Violet have a constant conniption fit yesterday's ride was quite nice.

P.S. Is it just me, or does that little grackle on the right look like he's peeking around a corner?
