(The friends were actually 'hired', not 'pressed'. But I digress.)
And so, since it's my unofficial job to clutch a camera and look like I know what I'm doing, I took pictures of the food and people surrounding us while we put things together.

I wish that I liked tomatoes, because I was told that they were delicious.
(I thought the mixture was pretty darned good, but everyone else said that the tomato/mixture combined made it amazing.)
Even if she didn't work, we'd still like her. XD
(By the by: that kitchen is GORGEOUS. So much counter space...)
(The woman behind Morgan here is the bride's mother, a self-proclaimed food snob, and she couldn't stop raving about how wonderful the food was. So I think we did a pretty good job. :D)
I only got a few pictures of the bride and groom (the latter's name was Cody, by the way) because people kept stepping in my line of sight to get pictures. XD So I started looked around and taking pictures of other people while waiting for the photographers to move.
(It's terribly washed out. Bleh. >.<)
(And then I went inside because it was absolutely roasting on the deck where I was standing. Bleh.)
After this point we servers (there were six of us) filed out carrying hors d'oeuvres. I find the trick is to make eye contact, smile, and walk directly up to people before offering the tray. It was so hot that people weren't very hungry...oh well. Much to our surprise the cucumber boats were pretty popular, and the sushi wasn't much of a hit. Oh well, more for us servers. XD
(Just kidding...we only snatched a few bites)
Things REALLY got nuts once everyone was seated and we started serving salads and the main course. I didn't get a picture of the main course, unfortunately, but it had an 8 oz steak (medium rare), a 6 oz chicken breast, potatoes (with olive oil and rosemary), and lightly steamed asparagus. It looked gooood, man, even to someone who had been handling food nearly all day.
(Also: three plates is my limit when it comes to carrying. Just thought I'd mention that. XD)
Ideally, there was supposed to be a squirt of strawberry sauce on the cake, and a squirt of lime sauce on the bar. But the strawberry sauce was a little chunky, and tended to get stuck in the bottle. So Will took it upon himself to get it un-stuck (i.e. squeeze as hard as he could).
(I know, I have a strange sense of humor. It was still hilarious, even though I still had strawberry sauce spattered on my face an hour later. *headdesk* And I had been serving that whole time...hopefully no one noticed...)
I would have eaten here, but I was in such a stupor from racing around serving and snitching hors d'oeuvres that I spent that time sitting at the counter and trying not to slump over asleep. XD
(For the uninformed: Mom and Dad were professional musicians for over 20 years before retiring three years ago. But they still play music unofficially, for fun)
So she sang 'Walking After Midnight' by Patsy Kline...someone asked before she sang if she was better at singing than her cooking. XD I think they all appreciated the cooking better...I mean, these people were all pretty well versed in good food, and we were a huge hit in that arena.
All in all, it was a most successful turnout with excellent reviews on the food, service, etc...and I'm still exhausted. XD So without any further ado, I shall sign off.
Your hostess,
The Fox
