Talk about an amazing person...
I looked up this 'David L. Tressler' fellow too...apparently he was wounded at Fredricksburg in 1862 and 'mustered out with company' in 1863. (I would have been sad if he had died in battle...apparently the 133rd PA company was hit the hardest during Fredricksburg) AND he built/operated a boys' orphanage in Pennsylvania before and after the Civil War.
...Is it just me, or is finding names and researching them online kind of addicting?
