Hokay. On to other things. Anyone ever heard of entrelac knitting?
See, I never usually follow a pattern--or I follow ultra-simple ones. Making swatches for gauge and actually following instructions is something that I tend to pass over in favor of 'winging it'. XD You'd think that eventually I'd learn to stop that, because I can't count how many times I've quit or passed over a project because it looked involved...BUT NO MORE.
Okay, non-knitters can come back now.
I thought you'd like the invitation.
Let's see, where was I...oh, yes, entrelac. So I started the pattern, got the first four triangles done, and promptly got stuck. This led me to searching for more, in-depth patterns with lots of pictures. (I'm a very visual person XD) I believe that I've found one...and now it's just a matter of time before I actually make something with it. *rubs hands together*
While I was digging through Mom's knitting needles for some single points, I didn't find any of the size that I was looking for. I DID find two that were completely different sizes and apparently without mates...so they're now holding my hair back Japanese-style. But while chopsticks look somewhat classy, the needles just look kinda scary. *makes note to take a picture*
I can guarantee that no one will be messing with ME, buster. I can whip one of those things out and, while my hair falls dramatically, do very nasty defensive moves with 'em. Or at least that's the way it plays out in my mind. Some slow-motion and dramatic music would help too, should that situation every arise. XD
Oh! Random subject change! This month will be the second year anniversary of my blogging journey! O.o Granted, for the first year or so I didn't do hardly any 'traditional' blogging (lucky to update two or three times a MONTH *cringes*) but my tactics have changed. It also helped that I became very camera-minded...and started talking about relevant things...yeah. Let's just say that I wouldn't advise checking out my early archives, unless you want to be thoroughly confused by the lack of updates and/or pictures. *shudders*
Well...there's not a whole lot else going on, really. We had a terrific thunderstorm last night that dumped tons of rain and the yard was flooded this morning. Pictures were taken, but they're still on my camera. And I was forced to stay inside all day due to the wind/rain/general sogginess outside...I was about to go BONKERS. And I wore a skirt all day.
...you can stop looking at me like that. I just wanted a change, ya know? Some way to shake things up. It was brought to my attention that I have a severe lack of 'practical' skirts in my closet (i.e. none of them have pockets and they all tend to be a little stride-constraining)...a visit to the second-hand store is needed, methinks.
Oh wait, I have no money to spare. My plates need renewed on my truck this month.
*headdesk*
I really need to learn how to alter or make clothes... *puts down on list of 'things to learn how to do', next to 'learning shorthand' and 'making more herbal remedies'*
Anyway. I don't think there's much else to be said...here's to learning how to do entrelac! *raises fist*
Your ambitious hostess,
The Fox
