I rode Colletta in the 4th of July parade for the first time this year! It was really, really fun. Unfortunately we only got two pictures of me and the horse: Un and Deux. I put her mane in a net latticework 'braid', which was fun; no one else braided their horses' manes. I wore Mom's leather fringed poncho over a camisole, my tall black boots, and my older brother's hat. The US Army bag is my official bag for carrying stuff (i.e. notebooks, books, sketchbooks, writing/drawing utensils, etc). Dad got a couple of videos of me on the horse as well; for the first one I was mocking the beauty contestants 'wave'.

Will sang 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables' and 'God Bless America' on the square that day too:

It was a very tiring day, because I got up at quarter to 6 and didn't get to bed until 11 (fireworks, woohoo). We also managed to pick up a miniature doberman pinscher for a few hours; she had been running around town all morning until a friend caught her, and eventually she came to me. We took her home (Dad started calling her 'Spam' because she was an unsolicited female, haha), discovered she wasn't housebroke (les gasp!), and fortunately found out who her owners were. I'm very glad, because our cats were on the verge of eating her alive.
Oh, I drew another picture yesterday and today...this is from my mom's book on socks. It tells you how to knit socks, but there's also a few chapters at the beginning about the history of socks. It's really quite interesting--it was talking about how these women would knit socks while they tended sheep or walked, and on foggy days they could tell how far someone had come by how much they had knitted while walking. This little lady reminded me of a gnome, when I first saw her...but she's chock full of character.

Dang, this entry is getting long...but I drew the longest comic I have ever done over the weekend--it's just an expansion off of a scene from Les Mis, where Marius is going to the police for help because his neighbors are going to ambush this guy...oh, just read the comic. I had to upload each page one at a time because the big version is too big to zoom in.
